What Is A Municipal Water Purifier Plant? This is a facility that removes solid particles trapped by the filter and not dissolved (total dissolved solids). It improves taste, oduor and kills bacteria in municipal water. This plant is recommended for pretreated water or natural surface water i.e. municipal water, rain water and river water. Purification Process Used In A Municipal Water Treatment Plant Stage 1: Chlorination It is the addition of a controlled amount of chlorine to kill microorganisms such as bacteria from water. Raw water is dosed with chlorine before it enters into the sand media vessel. Stage 2: Sand Media Filtration It involves the passage of water through a fine-grained sand which acts as a filter medium. The sand particles trap all the impurities such as silt, sand and organic matter as water flows through the sand bed. Through a process known as backwash, the suspended solids are flushed out Stage 3: Activated Carbon Filtration In this stage, carbon removes excess chlorine, pesticides and oduor in water. It is highly effective for removing wide range of contaminants. Stage 4: Sediment Filters The filters traps visible and invisible solid particles like sand, rust and other debris as water flows. There are 3 different sizes of filters; (A) 10 micron                                                                  (B) 5 micron                                                                  (C) 1 micron Stage 5: Uv Disinfection This is the final process of purification where the ultra violet light rays (UV) are used to eliminate all the bacteria present in water. Stage 6: Storage After the disinfection process, water is stored in a covered storage tank i.e. elevated storage tank, underground etc. and later distributed through network of pipes and pumps ready for human consumption. The Benefits Of Using This Plant Ensures safe drinking water Through the removal of harmful substances such as bacteria and viruses making the water safe for human consumption. Improves public health It reduces the risks of waterborne diseases such as Cholera by eliminating the pathogens. Supports economic development Clean and reliable water supply is essential for Agriculture, industries etc. it ensures there is access of water. Improves water quality This is in terms of the taste, oduor and the appearance of water since the PH level is adjusted, iron and manganese which cause the unpleasant smell or discoloration are out. Applications Of Municipal Water Purifier Supplying safe drinking water. Water purification for commercial use- water bottling and refilling business. What Is a Reverse Osmosis Machine ? A reverse osmosis (RO) machine is a water purification technology that uses a semipermeable membrane to remove ions, molecules, and larger particles from drinking water. In reverse osmosis, pressure is applied to water on one side of the membrane, forcing pure water molecules to pass through while contaminants are left behind. This process effectively removes contaminants such as dissolved salts, bacteria, viruses, and other impurities, producing clean, purified water suitable for drinking and other applications. Reverse osmosis systems are commonly used in both residential and industrial settings to improve water quality. Uses of a Reverse Osmosis Machine Removal of Contaminants: RO membranes are capable of removing a wide range of contaminants from water, including dissolved salts, bacteria, viruses, organic compounds, and particulates. This makes RO highly effective in producing clean, safe drinking water. Improving Taste and Odor: By removing dissolved salts and organic compounds that can affect taste and odor, RO systems can significantly improve the quality and palatability of drinking water. Reducing Health Risks: Many contaminants found in water, such as bacteria, viruses, and certain chemicals, can pose health risks if consumed. RO effectively removes these contaminants, reducing the potential for waterborne diseases and health issues. Other Uses of a Reverse Osmosis Machine We also use reverse osmosis(RO)for commercial use and also domestic use. FOR COMMERCIAL USE. Reverse osmosis removes large number of contamination such as; Fruoride, Sodium, Chloride, Salinity and Salt taste{total dissolved solids}       FOR DOMESTIC USE. It will reduce blockage of pipes that runs water I house Decrease clogging taps Removes hardness in water Removal of rust ,sodium and total dissolved solids Advantages of Using Reverse Osmosis Machine Using a reverse osmosis (RO) machine for water purification offers several advantages: Effective Contaminant Removal: RO membranes can effectively remove contaminants such as dissolved salts, heavy metals, bacteria, viruses, pesticides, and other impurities from water. This results in water that is clean, safe, and free from harmful substances. Improved Taste and Odor: By eliminating dissolved salts, minerals, and organic compounds that can affect taste and odor, RO systems produce water that tastes better and is more palatable compared to untreated water or water treated with less effective methods. Compact and Modular Design: RO systems are typically compact and modular, making them suitable for a wide range of applications including homes, offices, hospitals, and industrial facilities. They can be easily scaled up or down based on the water demand and purification requirements. Conservation of Minerals: Unlike some other water purification methods (such as distillation), RO retains essential minerals like calcium and magnesium in the water, providing a balanced and healthier drinking water option. What is The Price of Reverse Osmosis Machine In Kenya? The price of a reverse osmosis (RO) machine in Kenya can vary depending on several factors such as capacity, and features. Generally, for domestic or small-scale RO systems suitable for household use, prices can range from approximately Ksh 25,000 to Ksh 75,000 or more, depending on the quality and capacity of the machine. For larger-scale or industrial RO systems, prices can be significantly higher, ranging from Ksh 350,000 to 4,500,000 depending on the capacity and specifications required. It's advisable to check with local suppliers, online marketplaces, or directly from manufacturers to get current pricing information tailored to your specific needs and budget. HOW TO SET REVERSE OSMOSIS MACHINE Setting up a reverse osmosis (RO) machine involves several steps to ensure proper installation and functionality. Here’s a general guide on how to set up a typical reverse osmosis system.
